This year’s distinguished lecturer, Ashley Howard is the Assistant Professor of History and African American Studies at the University of Iowa with interests in the Black Midwest, Black freedom dreams and social movements. She is the author of Midwest Unrest: 1960s Urban Rebellions and the Black Freedom Movement. Her presentation is titled “It’s Time to Stop Asking and Start Taking: Urban Rebellions as Working-Class Politics.”
This program is presented in partnership with the Indiana Association of Historians.
