Kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with a celebration of history and culture.
Explore how Latino communities have influenced Indiana for over 100 years.
Through performances, hands-on activities, and cooking demonstrations, your whole family will get to experience a variety of ways we see and celebrate Latino culture today.
Don’t forget to look up while you’re in Eli Lilly Hall, or venture up to the mezzanine, where you can catch a glimpse of Justin Favela’s latest art installation commemorating the rich history of Hoosier Latinos.
Schedule:
11 a.m. to 12 p.m. - performance by Mariachi Sol Jalisciense
1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. - performance by Mariachi Sol Jalisciense
Family activities will include Mexican Tin Art, Flag Matching Game, Peruvian Weaving Friendship Bracelets, and Papel-Picado-Flags.
Activities and programming presented by the Lacy Foundation, supported by OneAmerica Financial, with contributions by Penrod Society.
